Bruz, 19 Decembre 2018 — The Avril Campus, emblematic site of the Avril Group in Brittany, was inaugurated this morning in the presence of:
Loïg CHESNAIS-GIRARD, President of the Regional Council of Brittany;
Emmanuel COUET, President of Rennes Métropole;
Auguste LOUAPRE, Mayor of Bruz;
Arnaud ROUSSEAU, Chairman of the Avril Group;
Jean-Philippe PUIG, CEO of the Avril Group.
Located at the entrance to the Ker Lann Joint Development Zone in Bruz, south of Rennes, this new site brings together activities from Avril’s animal sectors which were so far spread over several sites in the Rennes basin, in Bruz, Servon-sur- Vilaine, Pont-Réan or Vern-sur-Seiche. It now has 450 employees.

An iconic construction
The Avril Campus was built in 18 months by Legendre Group and designed by Unity. The architects imagined a 84-meter diameter round building on three levels with a glazed, covered and bioclimatic atrium of more than 2,000 m² in the center.
The new complex is installed on a plot of nearly 29,000 m². It consists of a 13,000 m² main building which houses offices and collaborative spaces and will soon host a research facility. Another building houses a company restaurant offering fresh, local products from the French oils and proteins sector, as well as a gym.
Resolutely turned towards sustainable development, this building has been designed to be certified NF HQE Tertiary building. It also houses a solar power station for self-consumption on its roof with a power of 150 kWp. This solar power plant will produce 155,000 kWh per year, the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 60 households.

New collaborative and interactive working methods
The circular architecture of the building, designed according to the concept of a clock, reflects the movement and cycles that shape agricultural time and the activity of the oils and proteins sectors. The layout of the interior space is part of this same logic. The configuration of the different workspaces has been designed to foster new collaborative and interactive working methods, particularly through the latest digital technologies.
"The Avril Group’s objective was not to build a new building but to unite and bring teams together around a meaningful company project," says François QUENEHERVE, Director of Real Estate and General Services of the Avril Group. "More than 70 employees participated, along with the Group’s Young Managers’ Executive Committee and the activities concerned, in the steering committees that accompanied this project at each of its stages."
For Jean-Philippe PUIG, CEO of the Avril Group, "This campus resembles our Group and carries its values of Respect, Boldness and Performance. It pays tribute, through a circular form reminiscent of the seed, to all our professions, at all levels of the agricultural, agri-food and agro-industrial sectors."
