The Group was built and operates according to an original model: an organization based on a value chain, from seed to processed products, in which each activity creates value for all the links in the chain. Avril relies on two complementary businesses: that of a manufacturer organized around plant processing, and that of an investor, carried out by its subsidiary, Sofiprotéol.

Founded in 1983 as an initiative by the agricultural, Avril is the industrial and financial actor in the French vegetable oil and protein sectors. Present in 19 countries, the Group generated a revenue of 8 billion euros in 2023. It employs nearly 7,245 people around the world spread over 69 industrial sites.
For nearly 40 years, the Group has remained faithful to its original mission: to feed people and animals and preserve the planet. Faced with the current challenges , Avril has chosen to reaffirm its power to act, through the expression of its purpose: Serving the Earth.
