In response to the expectations of farmers in the Southeast of France, Sanders, one of the leaders in animal nutrition in France, and the cooperative Valsoleil, a major player in agriculture in the southern Rhône-Alpes region, announce today their entry into negotiations to strengthen their industrial and commercial partnership within UCAB.
A strategic alliance for solutions adapted to the current challenges of livestock farming in the Southeast territories
Located in Crest, in the Drôme (26), where UCAB is currently situated, the industrial site for the production of animal feed offers efficient solutions adapted to the specificities of the region's agricultural operations, by promoting local production and contributing to the decarbonization of livestock farming. The strengthening of the partnership aims to fully align with the strategy of Sanders and Valsoleil in support of sustainable and profitable agricultural practices, closely aligned with production.
Thanks to this new partnership and upcoming industrial investments, the Crest site, which currently produces 130,000 tons of feed per year, would increase to 160,000 tons of feed by 2027 for farmers in the Southeast territories of France. Through the complementarity of their fields of action, Sanders and Valsoleil partners intend to contribute to preserving and developing sustainable agricultural sectors in these territories and provide quality and proximity services for Valsoleil members and farmer clients.
For Philippe Manry, General Manager of Sanders: 'In a context of agricultural, environmental, and climatic transitions, this project would represent a concrete response to the needs of farmers. Strengthening our partnership would allow us to confirm our commitment to strong French livestock farming in all territories, fully in line with our strategy of supporting sustainable and profitable agricultural practices.'
For Jean-Charles Denis, General Manager of Valsoleil: 'Through this new project, we seek to offer our members the expertise, technicality, and performance essential to their projects. We wish to strengthen the first link in the value creation chain of our poultry sectors.'
The project will be subject to the approval of the Competition Authority.
